Maddie Girl + Lori Baister & Rich Sassone

We were looking for a dog for sometime, my last dog was a beagle that I found and was abandoned in the Adirondacks. We came to Anita's Steven Swan Humane Society to "look". I grew up in Deerfield, and come back often to visit family. While walking through the facility we came across Madeline, a 10 month old, Mixed Terrier. Sal the volunteer was patient and provided a lot of information about Madeline. She was picked up roaming the streets of Mohawk, NY. She remained in the shelter for a period of time with hopes that her former owner would show. Sadly, no one showed up. Upon meeting Madeline, she immediately licked our face to say hello. She was sweet, gentle and sat in the grass to soak up the sunshine. 4 years later Madeline -- now named Maddie Girl lives her best dog life in Pittsford, NY (Rochester) and loves to travel and swim in the Adirondacks, Virginia Beach and Knotts Island, North Carolina. We tested to see exactly what her breed was, she is 100% three generation American Staffordshire Terrier. She has been through three rounds of dog training and is a full doggie grad school graduate. She is quite the fashionista with many coats, sweaters, collars and dog clothes. Her favorite hobbies are running, zoomies on the beach, hiking trails and snuggling with her mommy and daddy under a warm blanket. Maddie Girl is the love of our lives...wherever we go Maddie goes - Maddie has her own seat belt and blanket in our vehicle and loves to stand up with her nose peeking out the window. Making the decision to adopt Madeline was the best decision we could have ever made. Like any dog, Maddie required quality time, attention, exercise and training. All of which we made the commitment to do, she is extremely obedient, loving - that is probably her very best quality. Tummy rubs and doggie pets and massages are a favorite too. Making the decision to adopt a pet from Anita's Steven Swan Humane Society was the best decision ever made. We often wonder what her mother and father look like, who her siblings might be - please know Maddie Girl is the light of our life. We even honored her my sponsoring a Kennel.
