Meet the boy who continues to steal our hearts...

But our hearts can’t also help but break a little when we realize that Pepé has had only two visitors in the two years he has been at the shelter 💔

Pepé is our longest resident at Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society. Every single staff member here loves this boy like their own, but nothing would make us happier than seeing him thrive in a home, with more than just us to love him. Many overlook him due to his darker features and breed, but in reality, Pepé is one giant goofball. He’s a cuddle bug who adores toys—especially plushies he can suck on like a baby—and he’s obsessed with basking in the sun and enjoying any and all water during the summer.

Pepé is also extremely housebroken (he’ll bark when he needs to go outside and rarely has accidents). While Pepé does have a few specific needs regarding his future home, we’re confident the right owner is out there! He needs a home without cats, small dogs, or small children (we believe he would do well in a home with kids around 16 and up, with proper introductions). We are open to potential dog meets with dogs his size or larger—Pepé weighs around 70 pounds.
